For your sheep and goats, the small square bales of hay and straw (12 to 15 kg) are perfectly sized for a medium herd, easy to handle and measure out daily. Hay provides the fibre needed for rumination, straw is used as bedding. Barley rounds out the ration with energy during periods of high demand (pregnancy, nursing), in moderate quantity so as not to unbalance the forage ration.
